For those who don’t know Hinge just added a feature called Signals where if you’re thoughtful in how you interact with the app you get a little purple heart next to your name that others can see. There are 6 “activity’s” and you need to 4 of the 6 in the last 30 days to get a heart. Personally I’m not sure how effective this will be considering that 3/6 of the criteria require you to be actively getting and interacting with matches/likes. Many men on the apps myself included receive less than 1 like every 30 days which would remove our ability to get or maintain a heart. I wonder if that might even further limit our match potential. If those we’re interested in might take the lack of heart as a quick and easy way to reject a profile. I’m curious to hear what others think about this new feature.
